Creamfields were delighted to have Radio 1 presenter Vernon Kay on site once again to broadcast all the action live from the festival. You can listen again to Vernon’s show featuring interviews with deadmau5, Eric Prydz and Axwell until Saturday 4th September. Also don’t forget to check out Radio 1′s live photo blog featuring pics of Jaymo and Andy George roaming the site and meeting the crowd!

Check out Vernon’s blog from the festival below with links to all of Radio 1′s coverage…

Creamfields:That was AMAZING!

Vernon Kay | 21:08 UK time, Saturday, 28 August 2010

Well that was amazing. Listen to the show here and see the pics here.

We had Tongy, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Eddie Halliwell and of course own very own roving reporters Jaymo and Andy George wandering around the site as I span some dance tunes for an intimate crowd in the artist area.

That was that second year at Creamfields for Radio 1 and it was every bit as good as last year. Cream really know how to do it. They really do have the world’s biggest DJs like Eric Prydz, Pete Tong, Tiesto, Annie Mac with her own arena, plus our very own Jaymo and Andy George. It’s just brilliant.

One thing that I really like about this event is the demographic of the crowd. It goes right across the board with some old school ravers who were there back in ’87 right through to your young whippersnappers who have grown up listening to Pete Tong on Radio 1. And there’s something for everyone musically, from dubstep to trance to house to techno. It’s all there. You’d struggle to not find something you’d like. It’s a really stylish event to. The girls really dress up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much fake tan in one place.

I’m off out to watch Jaymo and Andy George smash it in the Mixmag Arena now.

Make sure you listen to the show and don’t forget, we’ve got some brilliant shows coming up in the next few weeks recorded at the event. Make sure you catch them…

Radio 1 Broadcast Schedule

Thursday 2nd September 9-10pm
Listen to exclusive sets from Creamfields on Jaymo and Andy George’s ‘In New DJ’s We Trust ‘ show.

Friday 3rd September 11pm -1am

The weekend has landed with thousands of festival goers heading to the fields of Daresbury for what is set to be the festival of the summer!
Befor…

The weekend has landed with thousands of festival goers heading to the fields of Daresbury for what is set to be the festival of the summer!

Before you leave please take note of this last minute essential advice to make sure you have the best experience possible at the festival!

Prepare for all weather conditions

Summer in the UK wouldn’t be the same without the occasional shower and this week has been no exception so be prepared for soft ground on entrance to the festival and on-site.

We suggest you invest in a good pair of wellies, a waterproof and warm clothing for the evening. Remember, there are no pass-outs at Creamfields so be sure to bring everything you need for the weekend with you when you leave your car.
Driving to Creamfields

The routes to Creamfields will be clearly signposted to help avoid traffic snarl ups and ensure everyone gets maximum time at the festival and minimum time on the motorway.

Please take note of our advice below.

Allow plenty of time to get to the festival, car parks will open at 7am.

Follow the designated routes to get to the event

Do not use sat nav as a traffic management plan is in place and there will be roads blocked off.

Please turn off at junction 11 OR 12 of the M56 then pick up the Creamfields traffic signs.

Stick to the speed restrictions – there will be pedestrians in the area.

Please be patient, roads will be busy. Check the local radio travel news for updates.

For more detailed directions to the festival click here.

Don’t leave things in your car that you will need

Remember there are no pass outs at Creamfields so be sure to bring everything you need for the weekend with you when you have your car.

There are lockers located in the event arena for any valuables.

Shuttle buses

We have now reached full capacity for our shuttle bus service from Manchester to the site. We suggest you travel from Warrington Central or Runcorn and use the shuttle bus service provided there.

You will be able to purchase tickets from the site returning to Manchester from the shuttle bus box office.

For more information on all shuttle buses running this weekend click here

Beware of wristband sellers and fake tickets

Wristbands will not grant you access to the show, if you do find people trying to sell them to you please do not buy them, they don’t hold any value and you are wasting your hard earned cash!

We have also had a few enquires regarding secondary ticket sites and ebay. Cream cannot support or verify the authenticity of any sites that claim to have tickets on sale as this is a sell out show.

There will be no tickets on sale at the gate, if you do find people selling them please be warned that these are likely to be fake.

Keep Yourself and Your Belongings Safe

Security will be tight – this event is ticket only and festival goers must be over 18 (See our ID policy above)

Be aware of your surroundings – remember that you are safer in a group. Organise a meeting point with your friends to ensure no one gets lost.

Look after your belongings – make sure you keep your mobile, iPod and wallet/purse safe and out of sight.

Don’t risk having your mobile snatched – use your phone in well-lit areas and keep it safe. Mobile charging units will be available on site so you can keep in touch with your group.

Do not leave valuables in tents – please make use of the lockers which will be available in the main arena during the event

Do not leave valuable items on display in your car.

Advice from Cheshire Police

Creamfields will be working closely with Cheshire police throughout the weekend to ensure the safety of festival goers and to minimise disruption for residents during the event. This will include strict searches for drugs and weapons and ID checks.

David Guetta is one of the most in demand producers on the planet, a multi-platinum selling artist, with four chart-topping albums to his name t…

David Guetta is one of the most in demand producers on the planet, a multi-platinum selling artist, with four chart-topping albums to his name to date (Just a Little More Love 2002; Guetta Blaster, 2004; Pop Life, 2007 One Love, 2009). With his signature sound of quirky, electro, house and dirty pop, David is one of the most impressive DJs in the house scene selling out almost every club that he plays in.

In 2009 David released the album ‘One Love’ which included the hit singles “When Love Takes Over” (featuring Kelly Rowland), “Gettin’ Over You” (featuring Chris Willis, Fergie & LMFAO) and “Sexy Bitch” (featuring Akon). He has worked with a variety of stars including Madonna, Estelle, will.i.am, Flo Rida and Shakira.

Here he talks about his headline performance at Creamfields this year.

You are headlining the Creamfields Main Stage for the first time. How do you feel about this?
Creamfields is always amazing, I’m already thinking about my set now. I’ve played quite a few Creamfields in the past and now I’m headlining the Main Stage I don’t even want to think about how crazy it’s going to be!

What can we expect from your set?
I’m planning on playing a few tracks off my new album, some of my favourite electronic tracks and I’m also going to debut some new music I’ve been working on that no one has heard before.

This will be your first Main stage festival appearance for Creamfields; do you ever get nervous before such a massive show?
Of course, it’s a big thing! And because I’m going to be playing some new music it’s going to be really interesting to see how people react to it especially because it’s a UK show and the UK audience has such a massive club culture. But Creamfields I’m ready!

Last year at Creamfields you had to stop your set temporarily because so many people flocked to see you in the Cream Tent, how did it feel to be in such demand?
That was crazy, the moment they told me I couldn’t play I was so frustrated but then after 30 minutes when they said I could go on I knew what was going to happen and after the first kick it was already going off, it was amazing.

What’s been your biggest achievement professionally and personally to date?
Well I’m really happy with the response I’ve been getting in America with the tracks I’ve recently released. I think this is my contribution to the scene, opening a lot of doors for people in the community not just for myself but for other artists in the industry. I think America is really opening up to dance music and music is definitely moving in that direction and the music we’re making is now migrating from Europe over to the US and back again.

Do you think you’ll ever retire – or still be DJing until you’re an OAP?
I’m going to carry on until I can’t, I love DJ’ing. People say ‘are you going to just produce now’ but no way. Everything I do and all my inspiration comes from the club.

Do you prefer club shows or festival shows?
I love both, they’re both so different. Festivals are all about the energy, they’re crazy it’s like a big rush whereas in a club I’ll usually play a much longer set and I can see people’s reactions to the tracks.

Who would be your dream collaboration? Are there any stars you’d love to reinvent into a dance diva?
Well I’m living the dream already working with all the big artists that I have recently. I’m not even living the dream as a producer but as a fan too, I’m just really excited about everyone I’m working with at the moment and I really hope its lasts!

You release much more chart/pop tunes than the much harder stuff you play when you DJ. Is that deliberate and what is the secret to success in both the charts and the clubs?
Well you know I first think as a DJ about making people dance and making the DJs happy but if the songs really strong then it can touch people who are outside of that community and aren’t even into club music. If a song is good it doesn’t matter if its rock or pop or hip hop. If it can touch people’s hearts it will succeed.

I think that’s why I’ve had so much success with One Love and other productions with artists like Kelis, Pharell, the Black Eyed Peas, Madonna and the other artists that I’m working with.

I’m just trying to keep that formula. I’m a DJ first and I’m trying to keep it that way even if I work with a pop artists I really want to keep it in mind that I want to make people dance.

What will your next collaboration be? How will you top working with Madonna and Kelly Rowland? Could the next collaboration be a famous man?
Well I’ve just done a new record for Flo Rida called ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’ which is out now and I have some other really cool collaborations coming up but I’m sorry I can’t tell you about them yet!

We see the highly energetic David Guetta on the big stage jumping around, but who are you in the studio?
I’m actually exactly the same in the studio as I am on stage. I’m always jumping around, getting excited. The artists I work with always laugh at me because I get so excited making tracks. It’s always been about making people dance and then drawing emotion from the track then writing the song.

Where does your music start? Do you write the lyrics and the melody or is this all in a collaborative form?
Well it always starts with a track because I’m a DJ first and foremost and I start off trying to make something that will get people dancing and then I’ll move on to the melody and then the lyrics.

If you could send a message to all of your fans, what would that be?
Creamfields get ready to party! I’m so excited to play on the Main Stage, so get ready to go crazy and get ready for all the crazy things were going to do!
