Creamfields decamps to its spiritual home of Liverpool in the North of England. The ‘Old Liverpool Airfield’ becomes its new home and over 50,000 people flock to the festival to see performances from the likes of Basement Jaxx and Pet Shop Boys.
Creamfields…the smartest, simplest, most brilliantly conceived outdoor festival of the whole calender. F***ing incredible, already etched into the memory of anyone there. And that’s whats so inspiring about Creamfields, no condescension, none of that cheap salesmanship was anywhere to be seen. As such, it was a totally refreshing antidote to a festival season that got so repetitive so quick. With a few alterations, Creamfields will be perfect, it damn near was today! Melody Maker 1999
